Following on from the launch of Saga Magazine, an app called The Edit, was commissioned, an edited version of the print magazine. The Edit was built within publishing app specialist Pugpig’s container and created within their Wordpress CMS. It was custom designed alongside a developer to be a free, edited, mobile and tablet only, offering of Saga Magazine.
During the pandemic, Saga wanted to offer more than an edited version to their wider audience. A full digital version of their magazine, available to their members and subscribers, was commissioned. Below is the suggested styling for the digital magazine, with additional functionality to help make the app become a full working digital product.
The design of the digital magazine was more streamlined, due to budget constraints. The original design of The Edit was reconfigured to be more representative of the print magazine, additional functionality was limited to a new picture carousel and primary button.
